Never thought I'd miss Nixon
Somehow that resonated more strongly than I'd have expected. Maybe it's because my first real memory of politics is my parents explaining to me that he had to resign because he lied. He was a bad man because he lied.
Huh.
Why does that seem so familiar right now?

He was the best president ever - as far as environmental regulations are concerned. And he really did set the stage for Republican presidents - As long as you don't get caught, or as long as "god is on your side ®", you can lie. Sadly, Nixon didn't have that.
